Tattoo, Piercing & Grounding Euphoria

This series expands my Grounding Euphoria project through tattoo and piercing–related practices.
It combines personal case-file–based research—where I document my own piercing experiences as emotional grounding rituals—with external observational studies conducted in tattoo studios.

The project includes:
• sketchbook observations and fast line studies created on-site in tattoo studios
• interviews with tattoo artists about ritual, control, pain, and identity
• client–artist interaction sketches and environmental notes
• original tattoo and piercing-inspired visual designs developed from my own drawing language
• personal “Good Girl / Bad Girl” case-file pages analyzing piercing as self-anchoring

Together, these works explore how body modification can function as a psychological anchor, and how drawing can document the intersection of pain, agency, aesthetics, and identity.
